The HumiCase HumiKit humidification system for the classical or acoustic guitar consists of two compact humidification pods which are placed in the guitar case, activation solution, and a digital hygrometer/thermometer. The system is easy to use and effective. Position the pods in the case, activate and hydrate the sponges with the activation solution and start protecting your guitar. Rehydrate the pods as needed with distilled water.
Activate the humidification pods by moistening each sponge with approximately 1 oz. of the supplied activation solution through the vent holes of the pod. Allow about 15 minutes for the solution to be fully absorbed by the sponges. Drain excess solution from the pods before pacing them inside the case. You can attach the pods in the desired locations inside the case using the velcro strips that are provided with the kit. The pods should not touch the guitar. Remove the pods during shipping or when traveling to prevent instrument damage should a pod detach itself.
The optimal humidity range for guitar storage is 40%–60% RH (relative humidity). Once the humidity level has been stabilized, re-hydrate the pods with distilled water to maintain the desired RH level. Use the activation solution every 3 to 6 months to re-activate the pods and then continue to rehydrate them with distilled water.
