A Brief History

All Strings Nylon is owned by Marfione Guitars and run from our log cabin enclave situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains.

We moved from Upstate New York to North Carolina to escape the cold northern winters, and set up shop to build concert classical and romantic style guitars.

We started selling an occasional set of classical guitar strings or tuning machines as a convenience to our Clients through our Marfione Guitars website. One order led to another, and another, and yet another, until it reached a point where it became obvious that our playful and somewhat casual retail endeavor had the potential to become a serious business in its own right and deserved its own web presence, hence All Strings Nylon was born.

As a team, we are committed to delighting our All Strings Nylon Customers. We conduct business in a low-key, down home manner very much in tune with the mountain life we lead. Nonetheless, we take business seriously. We work long hours setting up guitars and ukuleles for our Customers, packing boxes, selecting new products for the nylon string player, fielding questions and providing answers to our growing customer base — all in the spirit of providing each and every ASN Customer with the best shopping experience possible.

Who We Are

As a full time luthier, Chuck Marfione re-interprets some of the guitars built by the Masters of the past and, in the process, defines his own unique approach to building both classical and romantic style guitars. He contributes both his knowledge and experience as a guitar builder and sensitivity as a player to the All String Nylon effort, and is responsible for product selection, marketing, working with ASN Customers and suppliers. While these days his professional life is centered around the guitar, he has worn many hats over the years: entrepreneur, journalist, photographer, professor, and IT professional. When not building guitars or attending to All Strings Nylon business, he reads, ruminates, makes images, plays guitar, or works on the Marfiones’ mountainside paradise.
