The handmade Cordoba C10-SP is one of the staple models in the Luthier series. Along with the sweet, warm tone provided by its all-solid construction, the C10-SP features the vintage elegance of a hand-inlaid mother-of-pearl rosette inspired by a 1920s Domingo Esteso design, and a solid European spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides. Other notable features of the C10-SP include its black and gold tuning machines and adjustable truss rod.
All guitars purchased on the All Strings Nylon website undergo a thorough setup performed by a professional luthier, Chuck Marfione, at no extra cost to our customers. The setup includes the following steps:
- Inspect the instrument to ensure its cosmetic and structural integrity
- Level and polish the frets, adjust the nut and saddle and, where present, the truss rod to achieve optimal action and eliminate string buzz
- Adjust intonation if deemed necessary
- Condition the fingerboard to protect it from dirt, perspiration, and drying out
- Inspect the tuning machines to ensure they turn smoothly
- Pre-stretch the strings to minimize string break-in
- Test the electronics if present

I can do little but echo Scott’s review: he said everything I was planning on writing!
I’ve been playing for 53 years and have owned/played countless guitars and dealt with many shops and guitar shop owners. In all my experience, I have never encountered a service oriented professional that takes care of guitars and customers quite like Chuck Marfione. He is amazing. The setup on the Cordoba was absolutely perfect. And, as Scott notes, I received a two-page letter from Chuck detailing precisely how that set-up was achieved.
The tone of the Cordoba blew me away. Up to this point, my favorite classical was a Kohno, which obviously sits at a very different price point. Of the two, I honestly have to say I prefer this Cordoba (and, as a friend of mine tells me, I’m a “tone-hound”). Scott describes it correctly. This guitar is extremely articulate, resonant, with long sustain. I’m particularly impressed with, and love, the bass response of the sixth string. It’s extraordinary and “an incredible resource to have under your thumb” (echoing Scott).
This is a stunning guitar, with greater built-in value than its cost, presented by a luthier in love with his work. I cannot recommend Chuck or.this guitar highly enough. Many thanks, Chuck, for a guitar I will enjoy for years to come. (Posted on 10/9/2018)

I have been playing the Cordoba C10 spruce for a few weeks now, and my positive first impressions have been reinforced as I have become increasingly familiar with this guitar. This is a wonderful instrument, not just a pretty face.
The sound is full and deep: clear, resonant and articulate. Each note is distinctly heard with no muddiness over a wide dynamic range. Projection is excellent throughout the entire compass. The bass, especially the lowest notes of the sixth string, is powerful without being boomy, yet easily controllable and an incredible resource to have under your thumb. The sustain is amazing too, with no hint of dead or damped notes anywhere on the fingerboard. Intonation is very good; the Savarez Cristal Corum 500 CJ strings are well matched to the instrument.
The playability of this guitar is excellent by design but much credit also goes to the superb setup work by luthier Chuck Marfione. This is my second instrument purchased from Marfione Guitars; with each one Chuck has enclosed a letter detailing the preparation the instrument has received. His skilled attention at every point is thoroughly professional and much appreciated. I will preferentially do business with Chuck whenever possible. Thanks again, Chuck! (Posted on 6/29/2015)
